Initiate Systems introduces new Initiate Provider™ software

Enables healthcare organizations to manage provider information in a complex care delivery environment

Published: 10/22/2007

CHICAGO, IL, USA - (HealthTech Wire) - Initiate Systems, Inc. today announced the availability of Initiate Provider™ software. This new product leverages the innovative Initiate Master Data Service™ version 8.0, a comprehensive master data management (MDM) platform that delivers single, trusted and complete versions of critical data in real time to the people, processes and applications that rely on them.

“When provider information is managed manually or in disparate applications, tracking data becomes a huge, costly challenge – whether from one regional organization to the next or even between clinics in the same town,” said Scott Harper, SVP and general manager, Healthcare Practice for Initiate Systems. “With the powerful search, identity reconciliation, relationship management tools and integration capabilities of Initiate Provider, healthcare enterprises can understand and manage their provider network to improve patient services and support strategic initiatives, such as chronic disease management across the continuum of care.”

Initiate Provider enables healthcare organizations to manage healthcare providers and provider relationships from a single application. It is an MDM software application for healthcare organizations, including regional healthcare initiatives, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), insurance companies and life sciences companies that manage and maintain data about healthcare providers.

Initiate Provider alleviates problems caused by fragmented data by delivering a comprehensive, single view of healthcare providers. Furthermore, Initiate Provider can be leveraged as the backbone of national healthcare initiatives like Canada Health Infoway, National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Pay for Performance. In the case of chronic disease, organizations can gain insight into the providers associated with a case or with a type of disease for better and more effective treatment and trend-tracking.

“In an increasingly interoperable world, it is important to identify the right care delivery provider with the right patient as the patient moves back and forth across the continuum of care. Patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, need information about their care to move in real time among providers and all who need access to the most current data to achieve optimal care,” said Harper. “Initiate Provider helps enable healthcare organizations to monitor a patient from home care, to in-hospital or clinical care with all providers seeing the same data.”

Initiate Provider enables healthcare organizations to deliver better service to providers and their patients by streamlining and automating the management of provider information.

By leveraging Initiate Master Data Service™, healthcare enterprises can deploy Initiate Provider and other applications, such as Initiate Patient™ or Initiate Organization™, on the same infrastructure to improve patient quality of care while improving serviceability.

Initiate Provider will be showcased at the World of Health IT Conference and Exposition, October 22-25 in Vienna, Austria.
