Carl-Thiem-Klinikum Cottbus implements digital dictation using Citrix; optional upgrading to speech recognition
The largest hospital in the Federal State of Brandenburg will gradually introduce MBS-easy, powered by SpeechMagic, in all departments
Published: 09/08/2008
ELMSHORN/COTTBUS, GERMANY - (HealthTech Wire) - Carl-Thiem-Klinikum Cottbus will begin the roll-out of MBS-easy, the medical report management system and digital dictation system, across all departments before the end of the year. Additionally, the speech recognition system SpeechMagic will be implemented gradually in all clinics from 2009.
The software will be integrated into the hospital information system Clinicom CareCenter by Siemens, which is used to write medical reports. The implementation is expected to significantly improve the gathering and processing of information.
The fact that the digital dictation and speech recognition technology is compatible with Citrix was the deciding factor for the clinical center.
“MBS-easy and SpeechMagic Citrix Ready are explicitly recommended for use with thin clients. This meant we were able to build on the existing infrastructure and adapt and expand it to meet future needs,” says Bernhard Kaufmann, Chief Information Officer of Carl-Thiem-Klinikum.
Carl-Thiem-Klinikum Cottbus is the largest hospital in the Federal State of Brandenburg and has more than 1,300 beds and 300 physicians. Kuhlmann-Informations-Systeme will integrate MBS-easy, powered by SpeechMagic, in close cooperation with Siemens.
