Tieto’s National Patient Summary solution for Sweden formally accepted

"To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of care services"

Published: 09/17/2009

HELSINKI, FINLAND - (HealthTech Wire / News) - The Swedish National Patient Summary solution (known as NPÖ), one of the first of its kind in the world, has received formal acceptance and has been in full production since 1 September, 2009 in Örebro County Council and the Municipality of Örebro.

The NPÖ solution is based on the national IT strategy for the healthcare and welfare sector in Sweden and it will improve diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, and ensure patients have greater access and control over their medical records and security controls.

The solution is delivered by Tieto as an all-in-one service. It comprises implementation, development, application management and hosting, approval of connections and as an option also connection services. The development is based on the standard InterSystems HealthShare™ software. The agreement regarding the NPÖ solution was made by Tieto and Sjukvårdsrådgivningen SVR AB (the Swedish Healthcare Advisory Organization) in March 2008.
