All Grundig Business Systems dictation devices speak Linux
Digital dictation solutions support Citrix Linux Thin Clients
Published: 05/23/2008
CHICAGO, IL, USA - (HealthTech Wire) - The complete range of digital products available immediately from Grundig Business Systems supports the popular Thin Clients from IGEL and Siemens Fujitsu at Linux 2.4 with Citrix infrastructures for application provision. This offers decisive benefits especially for large networks such as those in hospitals or public authorities: increased data security, remote access to all functions of DigtaSoft, as well as central administration of the application. A specially developed DSS ICA channel transfers voice data to the central Citrix server at an optimised frequency range and minimises the latency period. Dictating and playback take place using the dictation software DigtaSoft without delays and in excellent sound quality. The user can process data on the Linux Thin Client as if the software were directly on the computer. At the same time, other employees are able to access files within the system from any terminal.
The central application also improves data protection: essential, personal information is only stored in protected data centres. Communication between clients and the server is encrypted.
In addition, the dictation devices are coded via the new de-facto language standard DSS Pro - unauthorised access is then impossible.
As one of the world's leading providers of professional dictation systems, Grundig Business Systems has always been aware of its users. This promoted the Linux compatibility of the dictation device's modern mobile workflow. All dictation devices can be centrally administered. Within a few seconds, anyone with authorisation can gain access to data from any location. This means that hospitals and public officials are able to link up external locations securely and easily to the central dictation system. This helps reduce administration and costs.
