LONDON, UK - (HealthTech Wire / News) - Ascom Wireless Solutions, the leading supplier of on-site wireless communications are presenting their latest teleCARE IP solution during the UK’s leading event for public healthcare ICT, Smart Healthcare Live 2010, at ExCeL conference centre in London.
Ascom are introducing VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) to their teleCARE IP solution, a system already established in hospitals and care homes around the world. Originally, Ascom teleCARE IP was created as a communication platform upon which new innovations could be built, combining the full suite of traditional nurse call functionality and the power of IP technology. With the addition of VoIP, it is anticipated that the new voice communication features will have a positive impact on the everyday tasks staff in the healthcare sector face, leading to efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Ascom Wireless Solution will also be showcasing their new IP-DECT handset; featuring market-leading levels of physical robustness and operating safety. The handset, which will carry the name Ascom d81, has been created specifically to answer the demands of users who work in the most challenging physical environments and require superior levels of alarm protection.
The hospital or care home environment demands that communication between staff and from staff to patients or residents is carried out on the move; in this case by means of Ascom DECT or VoWiFi handsets. All communication is done over the LAN using VoIP and SIP clients. Using the LAN also makes it possible to connect multiple sites to one large united site.
