Hytec offers better co-ordinated care through Integral Xchange

EYNSHAM near OXFORD, UK - (HealthTech Wire / News) - Hytec will be showcasing Integral Xchange, an ICT solution that enables better co-ordinated care for patients, at Smart Healthcare Live.

Smart Healthcare Live is the UK's first major health IT event following the general election and will provide delegates with an insight into the suppliers and ideas that will be shaping the future of public healthcare ICT over the next few years.

On stand J21, Hytec will be presenting Integral Xchange; an integration framework that, whilst reducing the cost of maintaining multiple databases, provides better-coordinated patient care by connecting disparate systems and sharing data across clinical and administrative systems in health and social care.

Features of Integral Xchange:

  • removes the need for expensive programmes to replace legacy systems by sharing data across existing systems
  • gives users a chronological history of a patient’s records in a single view, wherever the source information resides
  • enables clinicians to enter data only once, eradicating the cost of duplicate data entry
  • preserves the integrity of the original databases and applications
  • works in real-time
  • when used as part of a mobile working solution, delivers the information in real time, with information integrated at the point of service delivery

Hytec's Head of Systems Integration and OLM Group CTO, David Rivett commented: "Following the election, Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, said that the NHS must put patient outcomes and clinical evidence at the heart of any changes to health services to ensure a greater focus on the quality of patient care. For both health and social care organisations it's important that they share information to ensure their patients are receiving the best possible care. Integral Xchange uses open standards to link and share information, whilst creating a single chronological view of a patient’s history gathered from any number of different clinical, administrative and case management systems."

Integral Xchange has already been deployed in a proof-of-concept demonstration at London’s first polyclinic at NHS Redbridge.
